Our Products and the People behind them
Our main responsibility lies in the manufacture of our products - which for us is clearly under the promise of “Made in Germany”. Our 3Bears porridge mixtures are mixed and bottled in the south of Germany, on Lake Constance - not far from our mill. Where possible, our production partner works with German partners and importers when purchasing raw materials. For our organic range, Wild Bowls and Wild Kids, we work with a producer in Franconia who specialises in natural and organically produced food.
Our main ingredient, oat flakes, comes from the Rubinmühle in the Black Forest in all porridge mixtures - both our organic mixtures and our conventional range. The Rubinmühle is a family-run company in the 3rd generation and has been at our side since day one.
By the way, our founders Caro and Tim continue to develop all of our recipes and varieties themselves in their own kitchen. You can find out more about our founding couple here
Certified B Corporation
Since founding 3Bears, it has always been important to us to build a company that does good through its activities and operations. We are therefore particularly proud of our B-Corp certification. Since 2006, the B Corp certificate has been awarded by the non-profit business network B Lab to companies worldwide that achieve a particular impact through their social and ecological commitment. Around 5,000 companies in around 70 countries have now been awarded the label. We were particularly convincing in the “Governance” and “Workers” test categories. With a total score of 89.1 points, we achieved significantly more than the required 80 points.
“We have focused particularly on our internal processes and our team to ensure that we are the best possible employers,” said Tim Nichols, CO-Founder of 3Bears GmbH.
The inspection by B Lab takes place annually, which gives the B Corp certification a special level of quality.
Bio Circular Plastic: Sustainable packaging for a better future
The packaging basis of our products has evolved – we now rely on Bio Circular Plastic. What exactly is that? We'll be happy to explain it to you! The innovative material is made from renewable raw materials such as tall oil, used cooking oil and waste from agriculture and forestry. The special thing about it is that no agricultural land is required, which protects the environment.
Bio Circular PE is the second generation of sustainable polyethylene products and carries the ISCC certificate, which guarantees the highest sustainability standards. With this change, we are setting an example for the responsible use of resources.
Climate-neutral shipping with DHL GoGreen
Our online shop, through which we supply you with our Oat Heroes, is an important sales channel for us alongside food retailers. The disadvantage of online shopping: the CO2 emissions caused by shipping. That's why we only use DHL GoGreen to ship our products - a more sustainable and environmentally friendly solution. The program aims to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and local air pollutants, thereby reducing the impact on global warming.
